Excluding Content
Demonstrating the GDPR Consent Plugin
You can exclude content or embeds from loading in your site until a required consent is given.
In this example, a YouTube video is embedded into the website. Because YouTube will place cookies and load external javascripts, the GDPR requires you to obtain consent before showing the video.
You can exclude content by wrapping it in a shortcode that will check whether a consent has been given. If no consent was given, a permission request box is shown first instead of the video. Once the consent has been given the video will be available for playback. Additionally, any other video’s or content on the site that require the same consent will now also be loaded without requesting additional permissions.
Tip: Open the Privacy Settings below to disable YouTube permissions if you are not seeing the requestbox appear.
